Why Purpose Matters

Discover the Value of Purpose and How it Improves Your Adulting Experience

To successfully thrive at adulting, you must intentionally determine what matters to you most and why. This will help you get through the grind of building and developing successful life habits & routines that keep you going when challenges arise.

We are here to help you consider the value of purpose and provide ways to uncover the true meaning of success. You will be motivated and inspired to look within to identify who you are, what you want, and why it matters.

Why is Purpose Important?

Main Takeaways:

  • Purpose reflects the promise you made to yourself before you were born

  • Be true to who you are and you’re halfway there

  • Life experiences flow with ease when you focus on what you truly love

  • You are here to make a difference in your own unique way

Purpose is a popular term that gets a lot of attention nowadays. Everyone is striving to find it. I’ve seen many searching the web, inquiring among friends, asking family members, and even strangers…to help them. Everyone wants to live their purpose and rightfully so!

But what if I told you that many of the ways you’re seeking answers is simply leading to more questions….

Purpose - the commitment you made to yourself, before you were born, can only be unlocked, defined, and lived by you.

Top Ways to Discover Your Purpose and Life Goals

Many young adults make the cowardice decision to follow the crowd, chase popularity, and do what’s trendy. As time passes, they may acquire all the benefits that come with this lifestyle while also developing deep feelings of regret on the inside. When we seek answers outside of ourselves that can only come from within, we end up wasting a lot of time in our lives; while consequently, developing feelings of unworthiness, confusion, doubt, and sadness. Life is supposed to be fun, enjoyed, and lived to the fullest - but it’s difficult to experience such feelings, when we are not being true to who we are and what we love.

You either live on purpose or spend each day wishing you did

One of the biggest regrets many adults experience is the failure in being true to themselves.

Suicide is currently the 3rd leading cause of death among young adults. After unintentional injuries and homicides, it is the most common way teens are choosing to terminate their youthful lives. This choice does not occur without reason. Those who feel positive about their life and/or life experiences are not choosing this route. It’s usually a decision individuals make when they feel unhappy, unfulfilled, or unsatisfied with how their life is unfolding. Crowd pleasing, popularity seeking, and staying relevant on the Gram are a few potential factors impacting the confidence, self esteem, and mental health of young adults. When chasing joy through these external outlets, something is occurring within, that can make people feel as though they are not enough.

Nothing will feed your joy meter more than you being you.

Purposefully speaking, here’s the issue.

Before you were born, you made a promise to yourself about who you are and what you would do when you arrived. You determined what would bring you joy and how you would leave your mark in this world. Then….you experienced the world, learned certain patterns, indulged in adverse behaviors, and/or engaged in habits that appeared cool, successful, and worthy of your attention. Those experiences changed your whole life plan and you started to live a life to appease the world and not yourself….and no matter how hard you try to silence your inner voice, because it stems from your Soul - it’s always calling out to remind you that….you’re going the wrong way.

Feelings of unworthiness and unfulfillment occur when you fail to stay true to who you are. This tug from your soul is not occurring to influence you to end your life, it’s nudging you to stop living a lie, remember your commitment, turn around, and begin living!

This is why purpose matters. It is the key that unlocks the life you’re desiring to live. It is the gem that welcomes the joy you’re hoping to find. It is the seed that gives root to all the dreams meant to manifest in your life.

It’s time to stop running away from who you truly are.

It’s time to stop trying to fill shoes that weren’t created for you.

It’s time for you to be who you were created to be.

I know you think that being yourself may look weird and possibly too different for the world and those in it to accept. I know you think that living a life you love is too challenging and impossible to experience in a world that supports trends, crowds, and popular things. But if you look at every person, who developed the courage to fearlessly live as their true authentic self, what you will notice is - they become the trendsetter; they influence the crowd; they set the tone for what becomes popular. Your uniqueness is your money maker. Your genuine expression is your meal ticket. You being yourself is how you were designed to make a difference, build a legacy, and change the world!

How to Find a Purpose in Life

Your best life requires nothing more than for you to be yourself

🧩The Missing Link to Your Adulting Success:

  • Beyond the masks you’ve developed for the world, what are the things you really love about yourself?

  • Look within for clarity and identify the skills, talents, and activities you enjoy most.

  • What has your inner voice been communicating to you lately?

  • Silence the negative chatter: write a letter to yourself, expressing how you truly feel and what you genuinely desire to achieve in life.

  • Welcome God into your life. His plan aligns with your original plan. In fact, your original plan was created by HIM. It was developed to help you prosper and live an abundant life! (see. Jeremiah 29:11)

How deep are your inner wounds?

We understand how challenging it can be to live in this world. You may have experienced deep pain, heartbreak, and cruelty when being yourself. Bullying, cyberbullying, and ugly spirited people do exist. We apologize if they have made you feel low about yourself to the point of wanting to hurt, harm, or take your own life.
